- Bonding - what gradually happens between a parent and a child which results in intense feelings of love, protectiveness, and closeness. also, glue.
- Bugaboo - if you don't have this brand, you are an inadequate parent
- Dear Birthmother Letter - our explanation why a baby would prosper with us as parents
- Diaper Genie - no, you don't get three wishes... only one or two
- Domestic Open Adoption - where the birth mother and adoptive parents know each other before and after the baby is born
- Homestudy - the State procedure to get approval for adoption. And they REALLY study you
- International Adoption - if you're gay, say hello to your Vietnamese or Estonian baby
- Live Scan - electronic fingerprinting for murderers, rapists, and prospective adoptive parents
- Shooks & Beaks - our cats
- Transracial - if you ever look at someone and think... huh, that's interesting.

Your definition for "transracial baby": 1. made me chuckle aloud and 2. made my stomach knot inside in worry over how our children will look.
You can add "educator" to the list of criminals under "Live Scan".
